The Vending Machine Caf\u00e9: Creating Relevant and Resonant Spaces for a 24-hour Rosebank<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Vending Machine Cafe is the chosen vehicle for the programmatic response to the space, as it fulfils a multitude of needs. The typology is, first and foremost, one that can operate throughout the day, night cycle of a 24-hour Rosebank. The typology is alien and interesting, meaning that, even if just for the novelty people would seek to experience the space, people will be attracted to the space as an experience. It is highly convenient so people can either make use of the vending machines offering essentials on the peripherals of the space or explore deeper within and stay in the space for longer. Alterations to the building include alterations to the Lower and Upper Ground floor plates. This is to bring more physical and visual connections to the two existing axes of entrance, to make the interior space more open and connected, bringing the building away from the original rigidity and creating a more fluid way of interacting with the building. It reconciles the public interface, through precise intervention on the facade that not only subvert the existing aesthetic and form of the building but create clear points of interest that people are drawn towards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
