Gregory Katz Architecture began in a garage and continues to thrive on agility, innovation, and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. Founded by Gregory Katz, the practice draws from his rich academic and international background. Katz studied architecture at the University of Cape Town and later at Columbia University in New York. His professional journey includes co-founding in New York. It is this global exposure that has shaped his distinctive approach to architecture, blending rigorous design thinking with creative exploration.
The firm operates across a wide spectrum of projects, from private home renovations to bespoke residences for high-end clients, institutional and commercial facilities, and large-scale, high-density residential developments. Regardless of scale or budget, the studio consistently challenges conventional architectural norms. Each project becomes a platform to test innovative spatial strategies and inventive uses of material. Budget, time, and spatial constraints are not seen as barriers, but rather as opportunities to find surprising and unconventional solutions.
