In my architectural thesis, I embark on a groundbreaking exploration at the intersection of music and space, unravelling the symphony hidden within the Fourways Farmers Market. As a musician and architectural master’s student, my passion converges on transforming this vibrant market into a living canvas where the neglected body of water becomes a muse for architectural innovation.
Delving into the nuanced world of sound, I dissect the secrets of snare vibrations and craft evolving soundscapes through warm pads, demonstrating the resonance between music and architecture. The Farmers Market, a cultural heartbeat of Johannesburg, emerges as more than a marketplace—it’s a tradition, an outdoor amphitheatre, and a communal space where families gather to immerse themselves in local life.
